BACKSTORY
Luca grew up in London, English within a Chinese Christian community. He had a twin brother who his parents adored. Being perceived as the girl, Luca was pushed to the sidelines and looked down on for his weight, genius, and autism. With the help of his mentor, he escaped to university at seventeen and studied Marine Biology, graduating a year early at the top of his class, and then going on to get a PhD. After a couple of years working at a research facility in St Andrews, Luca was offered a position in Santa Monica, California, and he took it, looking for a fresh start.
